I spoke about Something Terrible with Kevin Smith on Fatman on Batman. It was an extreme honor.
(Note: Kev and I spoke pretty candidly, so apologies for language and opinions.)
(Warning! Here There Be Spoilers For Every Marvel Movie Ever!)
they will do more harm than good.
for some reason, when people imagine the zombie apocalypse, they imagine themselves with a rifle or hand gun performing headshot after headshot.
the reality of the situation is much different.
people get scared. their nerves are rattled. they can’t hold the gun straight. they fire. they fire again. two, three, four, five bullets and finally they hit their target. one zombie down, but the first shot they fired alerted every other zombie in ear shot to their presence. every following shot only helped the zombies pinpoint their exact location.
those with extra bullets try to reload. but being in a combat situation is wildly different than being on the shooting range or running simulations on your gaming console. they fire, fire, fire until they’re out of ammunition.
now they’re powerless.
they stood their ground, they fought as best they could, and now they’re being torn apart and eaten alive.
sell your guns. start exercising.
don’t “stand your ground and fight.” run. when you see the first zombie, run. don’t look back. just run. you’re faster than them.
an undernourished zombie is almost no threat at all. they’ll collapse at the faintest touch. they’ll be unable to stand back up. while they’re down, bash their head in with a rock or baseball bat.
your guns make you feel safe.
your guns are lying to you.
